Hi Me, Talk to Me Nice: Neuro-Informed Corporate Wellness

Maybe I was born with it; maybe it’s... a lifetime of conditioning. Either way, I have a tendency to want things (anything) to be in the ideal state before anyone sees them.
It certainly feels like a born-with-it type of thing, because I can’t recall a time when I didn’t want things just so for the show.
I mean, you should have seen the pre-adolescent emotional gymnastics and bargaining I’d engage in to ensure I could use Nana’s “gold”-rimmed tableware...for a tea party...for my dolls...who were my interns at whatever enterprise I was dreaming up that week. But that’s just a fun aside and perhaps a suggestion to co-host a tarot tea party with tableware you’ve inherited. You decide!
One thing I know for sure: creating iterative, generative, care-based offerings doesn’t support perfection-seeking because...
the world shifts fast.
our needs shift faster.
i can’t know something is generative for you until you try it, and you tell me.
perfection is an illusion.
I guess I say all of this because I came up with a neuro-informed workshop, and had been scared to share it because I believed it wasn’t “just so” and I finally picked up the courage to release it two months later.
I’d been driving myself up a wall with concerns about perfectionism and about being condemned for offering something new to my business and new to the DC area. Forgetting that five years of trust in SUNSOAKED would mean that a group of people would take a chance on themselves and me.
My internal rhetoric was misleading me, and the workshop is about revisioning a disruptive internal rhetoric. Heavy eye-roll at the existential comedy of it all.
As a means of addressing these particular inconsiderate internal arguments, I led myself through the very workshop I was afraid to share. I talked through my body and revised my internal rhetoric.
At the finish, I wrote myself a little note. It reminds me every day to create, give, and grow, and then do it again with care for improvement.
The note says release + refine.
We know that we can all be misled by our minds' convictions.
In this, we can recognize that we individually need guidance and reflection to adjust our self-trust and overall wellness. And so do our teams.
My neuro-supported, reflexive workshops are recommended for those experiencing pre-burnout, burnout, perfection-seeking, or internalized criticism.
My workshop, Talking Through The Body: Revisioning Internal Rhetoric, is ideal for private and corporate wellness.
This is a two-hour workshop introducing a bespoke reflexive scaffolding for transforming disruptive internal rhetoric. The system is designed to recognize, rearrange, and reimagine how we talk with and to ourselves.
As a whole, the workshop and system are informed by Erica J. Boothby’s research (Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania), the brain’s Default Mode Network (DMN, powered by the Prefrontal Cortex), and the Human Design system. The goal is for us to walk away from the workshop refreshed, with a generative relationship between our internal world and the life we live out loud.
If disrupting social anxiety, intrusion, self-criticism, and denial with a body-based system excites you, view the workshop’s scope. When ready, drop me a line to set up virtual or in-person private workshops.
SUNSOAKED Experiences are bespoke and adaptable. I welcome your email with questions! I’ll respond, yes, personally, by email or recommend a consultation.
