Surrender, resonance, and conversion: Tarot insights supporting adjusted action and generative growth.
This reading was pulled at the exact time of the New Moon in Capricorn, January 18, 2026, at 2:53 PM EST in Washington, DC, and is an energetic blueprint for the entire lunar cycle: insights to guide action and generate growth.
With Lunar Cycle Tarot, we are tending the energy of the moment as a foundation for the lunar cycle ahead.
We’re flying in the face of: “this is the MOST important moment of the year, plan your year or falter excruciatingly” and settling into the reality that not all of us are on sacral energetic batteries. We recognize that we all feel the tides of the moon and are called to the sincere intensity of the astrological world, and still, at SUNSOAKED, we don’t play with fear-based resonance.
Faltering here and there, or being discombobulated for a time, will never be your downfall, nor the end of the story.
Here we are present for the whole system, and honor how the universality of tarot taps into the tender nooks and crannies of life, and that will never be used to bypass the alignment of satisfaction, success, peace, and surprise in the brain or body.
I am here, SUNSOAKED is here, to support you in attuning to you. xoxo Briget.
THE ASTROLOGICAL CONTEXT
The Capricorn New Moon is on January 18, at 2:52 PM EST. This will be the Super Wolf Moon, conjunct Venus in Aquarius. Conjunct, meaning they are very close together, forming a powerful, near-singular energy.

What does this mean for us?
Well, our wild, moon-howling hearts are called to embrace non-attachment as a means to generate our ideal lives. We're presented with a notion: Non-attachment is a loving, calm, and steady connection to the infinite and conscious experience of living. Conversely, attachment is rooted at the intersections of lack, grief, and fear.
We release expectations and possibility blooms instead. With space and new growth, we might want to move fast through this dreamy lunar arc: let's plan on that. And make sure we move with intention as well.
We went into this New Moon arc with Lunar Cycle Invitations and Apatite to open the throat and encourage manifestation, unique to our manifestation styles.
THE CRYSTALS
Crystals: Beautiful earthy totems connecting us to ancestral stories, overlapping human experiences, and the passage of time. We carry them with us as partners on our transformational, autonomous journeys.
Crystal: Guiding words.
Smoky Quartz: Control is an illusion - accepting the mystery of my existence liberates me.
Amethyst: I embrace transformative power, turning fear to bravery, anxiety to excitement, and anger to spiritual wisdom.
TO THE TAROT
The Tarot: A mutualistic, benevolent platform for reflection, featuring the spherical human story in five parts. The Major Arcana, or the Hero’s Journey in the literary sense, from inspiration to revolution or the Fool to the world, and the four Minor Arcana. Cups. Wands. Swords. And Pentacles.
The deck in hand, I shuffle and wonder;
In what way might we be best supported throughout this lunar cycle.
THE SPREAD
Triad
Three cards in triangle formation, without a hierarchy or timeline, we explore how three energies converge on this moment, and us in it.
THE PULL
Diamond:
Nine (9) of Pentacles, Minor Arcana
Two (2) of Wands, Minor Arcana
Wheel of Fortune, Major Arcana

THE MESSAGE: CAPRICORN NEW MOON
Allow yourself to be moved into points of discovery, adjustment, and release. A softer, expansive, prosperity is available for us, when we stop controlling every outcome and every step with outdated conditioning: choosing resonance instead.
THE TAROT READING: CAPRICORN NEW MOON
The Wheel of Fortune throws us into life.
Encouraging the practice of unattachment once again (yes, there does seem to be a theme this winter), we are invited to surrender to the experience and the process over even the perceived best outcome. Surrender takes infinite forms (informed by the Nine of Pentacles and Two of Wands) and we are releasing our imaginations from obsession, from over-concern, and into wonder.
Wonder is where we begin to connect with purpose, aligned direction (Two of Wands). The inherent curiosity steeped into the Wheel of Fortune is in many ways an invitation to true desire, visionary life-concept, and everyone's favorite (mine too) manifestation. This card punctuates an arc in time, a formation along the continuum of life, that prefers manifestation to be about the process of becoming who and what we need to be to enter into the life we imagine.
Way-finding with resonance is at the core of the Two of Wands.
Along the path of discovery, we ride the tides of emotion and experience. Throughout the process we are prone to experiencing the negative and even being inclined to ruminate on challenges and perceived failures over the ways we arrived in the occasion and excelled.
When we look at our lives with gratitude we amplify our resonance with prosperity.
This is where the Nine of Pentacles becomes a conversion point as much as a state. Integrate the mindset of having enough in the now, leading to having enough as our definition of enough adjusts with our needs and desires.
A softer, expansive, prosperity is available for us, when we stop controlling every outcome and every step with outdated conditioning: choosing resonance instead.
